Scope of Work
- Forest Products: Purchase and removal of Pine Sawtimber, Pine Chip-N-Saw, Pine Pulpwood, Hardwood Sawtimber, and Hardwood Pulpwood.
- Estimated Volumes: Pine Sawtimber (5,056 tons), Pine Chip-N-Saw (3,300 tons), Pine Pulpwood (4,967 tons), Hardwood Sawtimber (150 tons), and Hardwood Pulpwood (2,472 tons). These volumes are estimates and not guaranteed.
- Harvesting Requirements: Operator selection method, maintaining specific basal areas in pine and hardwood stands, and removing undesirable species. Final removal of seed trees in pine sawtimber stands is required for conversion to native prairie. No mast-producing hardwood is permitted within 50 feet of streams or lakeshores. Timber sale boundaries are defined by maintained roads and boundary fences.
- Utilization: Pulpwood trees must be utilized to a 4-inch top diameter inside bark; Sawtimber trees to an 8-inch top diameter inside bark, with the remainder utilized as pulpwood.
- Environmental & Safety: Compliance with silvicultural practices, best management practices, and environmental regulations. Protection of facilities, roadways, stream courses, and cultural resources is mandatory. Logging slash must not be piled or dispersed within 50 feet of any primary road or next to residual trees. No firearms are permitted on site.
Contract Details
- Contract Type: Pay-As-Cut Contract (Invitation for Bids).
- Period of Performance: Harvesting and removal must be completed by December 31, 2027.
- Set-Aside: Bidders must certify their small business status. The definition of a small business for forest products sales is provided within the IFB.
- Bid Deposit: A $25,000.00 bid deposit for Item 1 is required, payable via cashier's check, money order, or other non-revocable payment (personal checks are not accepted). This deposit will be applied to the performance deposit for the successful bidder.
- Performance Deposit: An additional $25,000.00 performance deposit or bond is required within ten (10) days of acceptance.
