Scope of Work
This solicitation is for Isophorone Diisocyanate (IPDI), which must meet the analytical requirements of Weapon Specification WS16305C dated 1 JUL 77. The product must be a colorless to slightly yellow nonaromatic liquid with an Isocyanate (NCO) Content between 37.0 and 37.8 percent. Qualified vendors include Covestro (Desmodur I) and Evonik Degussa (Vestant IPDI).
Key Requirements
Vendors must be qualified within McAAP Pamphlet 702-13. Required documentation includes a Certificate of Conformance (COC), Certificate of Analysis (COA), and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) with each solicitation and shipment. COC/COA must include manufacturer name, product name/description, specification, lot/batch number, manufacture/expiration date, analytical data, a statement of no change, and an authorized signature. Packaging labels must also include specific product information. COC/COA approval by MCAAP AO is required before contract award. Material must be shipped in new, palletized, and banded 55-gallon metal drums, with no mixed lots on pallets. No rail deliveries will be accepted. Contractors may be required to submit a 5-pound sample of IPDI for testing prior to award, with a four-week turnaround from notification.
