Request for Information (RFI) / Sources Sought

This RFI is issued by the Department of the Interior (DOI), Interior Business Center (IBC) for the Air Force Wildland Fire Branch (AFWFB). It is for information and planning purposes only, to be used as a market research tool. This is NOT a solicitation, and proposals or quotes will not be accepted. The government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. The RFI aims to identify potential vendors (large, small, and socioeconomic concerns) with the experience and capabilities to perform the work described in the attached draft Performance Work Statement (PWS). It also seeks to engage industry for insights into risks, opportunities, and best practices related to the acquisition.

The primary mission involves prescribed fire and mechanical fuel reduction for ecosystem and hazardous fuels reduction on Air Force lands. The ongoing maintenance and repair services include servicing, maintenance, and repair (including minor and major repairs, overhaul, modification, or refurbishing) of designated equipment, vehicles, and associated items currently being utilized at AFWFB Wildland Support Modules (WSMs).

Respondents are invited to submit contact information and a capability statement detailing how they can meet the requirements outlined in the draft PWS. Specific requests include:

• Vendor's capability related to the PWS requirements.

• Description of recent and relevant experience of similar size and scope, with examples or references.

• Information on capabilities, novel ideas, and industry best practices relevant to the requirement.

• Applicable information to assist the Government in determining capabilities.

• Feedback and comments on the attached Draft PWS, including recommendations on deliverables, relevant labor categories, and other comments.

• Recommendations on industry best practices and standard contract types, considering Firm Fixed Price (FFP) and/or Labor Hour (LH) contract types.

• Responses must be submitted via e-mail to Scott Szczesniak (scott_szczesniak@ibc.doi.gov) and Joelle Donovan (Joelle_donovan@ibc.doi.gov).

• The subject line must read "AFCEC Repair and Maintenance".

• Responses should be in MS Word as editable text. Supporting documents in MS Word or Adobe PDF are acceptable.

• Response Due Date: February 15, 2026.

Vendors are encouraged to indicate if they wish to be placed on the Interested Parties List. The RFI seeks to identify potential vendors of all sizes, including large, small, and socioeconomic concerns.

• The Government is contemplating Firm Fixed Price (FFP) and/or Labor Hour (LH) contract types.
• No evaluation letters or results will be provided.
• Only electronic mail submissions will be accepted or answered.
