Quick Summary

The Department of the Interior (DOI), through its Interior Business Center (IBC), has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for Equipment Maintenance and Repair Services for the Air Force Wildland Fire Branch (AFWFB). This RFI is for market research purposes only to identify potential vendors (large, small, and socioeconomic concerns) capable of providing these services. Responses are due by February 15, 2026.

Scope of Work

This RFI seeks information on capabilities for ongoing maintenance and repair services, including minor and major repairs, overhaul, modification, or refurbishing of designated equipment, vehicles, and associated items. These services support the AFWFB Wildland Support Modules (WSMs) in their mission of prescribed fire and mechanical fuel reduction on Air Force lands. Services are required across various module locations, as detailed in Attachment A, for equipment listed in Attachment B.

Key Requirements for Response

Interested vendors are requested to submit:

  • A capability statement detailing how they can meet the requirements outlined in the draft Performance Work Statement (PWS).
  • Description of recent and relevant experience of similar size and scope.
  • Information on novel ideas and industry best practices.
  • Feedback and comments on the attached draft PWS, including recommendations on deliverables, relevant labor categories, and contract types (contemplating Firm Fixed Price (FFP) and/or Labor Hour (LH)).
  • Information regarding plans for joint venturing (JV) or partnering.
