Notice of Intent / Statement of Work

This document is a Notice of Intent (NOI) from the US Geological Survey (USGS) to award a Purchase Order to Oxford Instruments, Inc. for a maintenance service agreement for two (2) Oxford XMaxN-150 large area Energy Dispersive Spectrometry (EDS) detectors and one (1) Oxford Synergy Electron Back Scatter Diffractometer (EBSD). The NOI states that Oxford Instruments, Inc. is believed to be the only source capable of providing this service. The attached Statement of Work (SOW) details the requirements for this annual service contract.

• Routine maintenance, including software upgrades.

• Access to field engineers/support for detector malfunctions.

• Diagnosis and replacement of failed components on an exchange basis from local inventory.

• Restoration of detector performance to factory specifications.

• Priority telephone support, labor, genuine parts, and travel expenses covered by the vendor.

• One (1) Preventive Maintenance (PM) and calibration to factory specification during the final six months of the performance period.

• Software updates (bug fixes/safety improvements) provided at no charge.

• Priority detector exchange or repair, with vendor responsible for shipping costs.
