Scope of Work
The contractor will provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, and supervision necessary to disconnect existing VFDs and install new Danfoss VFDs and associated components. This includes VFDs ranging from 1.5 HP to 40 HP for exhaust fans, hot water pumps, return fans, and air handling units. Key requirements include:
- Integrating new VFDs with Siemens programming into the Building Automation System (BAS) and Fire Alarm System.
- Capturing and incorporating parameters from existing VFDs into the new units.
- Performing start-up, commissioning, and testing procedures.
- Ensuring continuous operation of the healthcare facility and preserving indoor air quality.
- Adherence to National Electric Code (NEC), NFPA 70E, and VA healthcare codes.
- Work must be coordinated with the COR and scheduled outside normal operating hours (7 AM - 4 PM) or on weekends to minimize disruption.
Contractor Qualifications
Offerors must be experienced, licensed electricians with NICET 1 or NETA 2 certifications and OSHA-approved safety training. A minimum of three continuous years of experience in VFD replacement, inspection, and testing in healthcare, industrial, educational, or commercial facilities is required. Contractors must also have access to relevant industry standards and VA directives.
Contract Details & Deliverables
