Justification for Single Source

The award was made on a single-source basis due to the emergency nature of the repairs. A "Justification for Single Source Awards" document explains that BOILER CHILLER SYSTEMS, LLC was able to immediately assess and repair the system. Open competition was deemed to cause unacceptable delays, and the required repairs exceeded the VA's in-house capabilities. Market research was conducted based on previous contracts for similar steam repairs. This justification was for services over the Micro-Purchase Threshold but not exceeding the Simplified Acquisition Threshold ($250K), in accordance with FAR 13.106-1.
