Quick Summary
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is conducting a Sources Sought for MCC & Panelboards Replacement at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center (RLRVAMC) in Indianapolis, IN. This market research aims to identify qualified businesses, with an emphasis on small business concerns, capable of replacing critical electrical distribution equipment. Responses are due May 22, 2026.
Purpose
This is a Sources Sought request for informational and planning purposes only, not a solicitation. Its primary goal is market research to determine the interest and capability of businesses, particularly small businesses, to meet the specified electrical replacement requirements.
Scope of Work
The project involves replacing two existing motor control centers (MCCs) with free-standing panelboards and circuit breakers, and replacing two existing panelboards with one consolidated panelboard in room C-B019. This includes the removal of old equipment and the provision and installation of new Eaton cabinets and circuit breakers. The contractor must provide a complete, operational system that matches or exceeds existing voltage, ampacity, interrupting capacity, and circuit count, without reducing system capacity or reliability. All work will occur within Building 1 of the RLRVAMC, a 24/7 operational hospital. Extreme care is required to minimize disruption to patient care, with disruptive testing or power curtailment planned for off-hours.
Contractor Qualifications
Firms must demonstrate:
- Regular engagement in electrical distribution equipment installation, modification, and replacement.
- Minimum five years' documented experience in MCC, switchgear, or panelboard replacements in occupied facilities.
