Scope of Work
The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and supervision for the Overdoor Alarm Repair. Key tasks include:
- Furnishing and installing two (2) solid core wood doors, mortised for electrified hinges, matching existing materials and finishes.
- Furnishing and installing two (2) "The Door Switch" proprietary overdoor alarm systems.
- Furnishing and installing two (2) astragals and two (2) kick plates.
- Rewiring and remounting new Door Switches per manufacturer requirements.
- Ensuring all hardware and fasteners comply with VHA Mental Health Design Guides.
- Using only new OEM parts.
- Performing acceptance testing witnessed by Facilities Management Service staff.
- Adhering to VA Connecticut Healthcare System Medical Center Policy 138-075 for Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Completing an Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) and installing required barriers.
- Work to be performed Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., excluding government holidays unless an emergency.
