Solicitation / RFP / RFQ

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial services to repair a failed medium voltage electrical switch (Switch 1) at the VA Central Western Massachusetts Medical Center in Leeds, MA. The repair is necessary to maintain a safe and compliant electrical system according to NFPA 70B and VA 1028 directives.

• Furnish and install new porcelain insulators and stainless-steel hardware within Switch 1.

• Furnish and install one new S&C fuse holder assembly.

• Clean and lubricate all mechanisms within the switch.

• Field test insulation resistance and contact resistance.

• Contractor must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of successfully completed experience in repairing, testing, and performing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) on medium voltage equipment. Installation of new equipment does not count as repair experience.

• All work plans and materials must be submitted to the COR for approval 21 calendar days in advance.

• On-site work requires 7 calendar days advance notification to the COR.

• Off-hours work may be required.

• Period of Performance: 90 calendar days from contract award date.
