This notice of intent to sole-source is not a request for competitive proposals, and no solicitation
will be made available. This is a notice of intent to solicit and award a sole-source contract
under statutory authority 10 USC 2304(c)(1), set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulations
6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency
Requirements. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Orlando VA Healthcare System, Network
Contracting Office (NCO) 8, 13800 Veterans Way, Orlando, Florida, 32827, intends to award a firm-fixed price sole source contract for Cepheid Service and Maintenance Contract one (1) Base year + Four (4) option years to Cepheid, 904, East Caribbean Drive, Sunnyvale, California. 94089-1189, United States.
This procurement is for a Sole Source Justification in accordance with FAR 13.501(a), where
acquisitions conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the
requirements of FAR Part 6, but still require a justification using the format of FAR 6.303-2. The
NAICS code for this procurement is 811210 and the Small Business Administration Size Standard is $34. Million. The current FAC is 2025-06 dated 10/01/2025. This procurement is
also being conducted in accordance with procedures in FAR 13.106-1(b), soliciting from a single
source.
If vendors believe they have the technical capability to meet this specific need, submit a
complete technical package, which provides clear and convincing evidence that they can meet
