NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE James J. Peters VA Medical Center
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 2, intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed-price purchase order to STERIS CORPORATION for service maintenance of the Steris Advantage-Plus Medivators at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in Bronx, NY. The Contractor will provide full technical support (on-site and phone), OEM-compliant preventative maintenance, corrective services, and detailed reporting. Response to service calls is required within four business hours, with on-site support within one business day if needed. On-site training for Sterile Processing staff is also included.
As confirmed by a proprietary letter from the manufacturer, STERIS CORPORATION is the only authorized service provider for this equipment. Market research found no other qualified vendors; therefore, a sole-source award is justified.
This procurement falls under NAICS 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance), with a $34 million small business size standard, and PSC J065.
This is not a request for competitive quotes. However, firms that believe they can meet these requirements may submit a written response with supporting documentation to Zachary Whiting at Zachary.whiting2@va.gov by December 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. If no responses are received, the government will proceed with the sole-source award.
