Statement of Work (SOW)

To maintain the Siemens Skyra 3T MRI system (serial 45205) and its associated DTS Chiller system in peak operating condition to meet research specifications at the San Francisco VA Medical Center (SFVAHCS).

This contract covers preventive maintenance (PM) and emergency service for the specified Siemens MRI and DTS Chiller equipment. Key activities include:

• Scheduled PM visits by Siemens-trained service personnel.

• Corrective maintenance and repairs to ensure equipment operates within specifications.

• Emergency response: within one hour by phone and four to eight hours in person during coverage periods (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, M-F for MRI; 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM, M-F for DTS Chiller).

• Next-day delivery of any required parts (excluding consumables).

• Hardware/software updates/upgrades at no additional charge.

• Operational Uptime: Equipment must be operable and available for use 95% of normal operating hours.

This is a notice of intent to award a sole source firm-fixed-price contract to Siemens Healthineers for Medical Equipment Repair and Maintenance Services for the Siemens Skyra 3T MRI Imaging instruments and Dimplex Chillers. These services are required for the Department of Veterans Affairs Hospitals within Network Contracting Office (NCO) 21. The government is pursuing this sole source award under FAR 6.302-1, citing that only Siemens Healthineers can satisfy the agency's requirements.
