Scope of Work
The requirement involves performing all maintenance and repair work for approximately 224 pieces of kitchen equipment. This includes providing labor, materials, tools, equipment, specialty services, and supervision for quarterly and monthly inspection, maintenance, and repair of commercial kitchen and canteen equipment. Key tasks include:
- Conducting quarterly and monthly safety inspections, repairing deficiencies, or removing equipment from service.
- Providing written reports after repairs, detailing equipment status and location.
- Responding to emergency call backs and making on-site repairs within 24 hours of notification. An equipment inventory (Attachment 1) provides a detailed list of items requiring service.
Contractor Qualifications
Interested contractors should demonstrate:
- Personnel trained and certified, with CFESA certification preferred.
- At least 5 years of satisfactory experience providing kitchen equipment maintenance and repair services for a minimum of two other VA facilities or large hospital systems with similar equipment complexity.
- Documented experience (5+ years) working on retherm units, conveyorized dishwashers, and refrigeration units.
- Ability to establish and maintain a Quality Control Program (QCP) including an inspection plan and on-site records.
