Scope of Work
Vendors must be capable of supplying complete "procedural packages" that include:
- FDA-approved implants
- Instrumentation sets
- Ancillary accessories necessary for orthopedic surgery
Delivery methods required are Just-In-Time (JIT), Direct Vendor Delivery (DVD), and Consignment. For JIT, manufacturer field representatives deliver products to Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs) just-in-time for surgery. DVD involves orders placed via ECAT and direct delivery to customers. Consignment requires products to be held at MTFs.
Manufacturers must also provide a qualified representative on-site at MTFs, within specified timeframes, to offer technical advice and guidance to physicians before, during, and after implantation. Additionally, 24/7 technical support must be available.
