Quick Summary

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), under the Department of Commerce, is soliciting proposals for the Jones Beach Fisheries Field Site Pad and Roof project. This Total Small Business Set-Aside opportunity involves constructing a covered outdoor workspace to protect sensitive electronic equipment and facilitate activities like trawl net repair. The project is located at the Jones Beach NMFS Field Station in Clatskanie, Oregon. Proposals are due by April 20, 2026, at 12:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time.

Scope of Work

The primary objective is to create a dry, outdoor location for the construction and testing of large PIT antennas and other applications. The scope includes:

  • Relocating two existing 40-foot-long by 8-foot-wide Conex structures to form a U-shaped perimeter.
  • Installing three gravel pads: two for the Conex boxes and one for vehicle access.
  • Constructing and installing a robust metal or wood roof structure to cover the 40-foot by 20-foot space between the two Conex boxes. The roof must run North to South, withstand heavy winds and precipitation, and have a minimum height of 10 feet and a maximum of 20 feet. Fabric roof structures are not permitted.
  • Minimizing RFID interference by avoiding metal in the gravel bed and ensuring loose connections in the roof are addressed, potentially using plastic, wood, or rubber spacers.
  • No engineering or permitting is required for this project. Government-furnished Conex containers will be provided.
