Purpose & Scope

DIA requires a Kern OptiFlex 80x120 Laser System to enhance its fabrication capabilities. This is a non-personal services requirement for the provision, delivery, installation, calibration, configuration, and training for the laser system, including associated accessories and software. The vendor will be responsible for all related costs and ensuring minimal impact on daily operations during installation at DIA's Bolling AFB, DC facility. The system is needed by July 31, 2026.

Key Requirements

System Specifications:

  • Kern OptiFlex 80" x 120" Laser System with KT 500 laser 500W CO2 Laser Source.
  • Includes a 3 HP chilling unit, Coreldraw software (perpetual license), UL electrical panel (208-240V, 3PH, 50A, 50/60Hz), chuck rotary package, safety bumper package, metal cutting package, K-Vision Camera package, and S-focus 5" lens assembly.
  • Requires 2 days onsite training, Lead-in pro for Coreldraw, Purge filter assembly, Purex 5000i Fume Extractor, standalone Adobe Illustrator with PDF Export Tool(s), HyperDual Motion Package, and a custom-built PC with monitor.
  • Warranties include a 2-year laser system warranty and a 3-year laser replacement warranty.
  • Vendor proposals must include a drawing to scale with dimensions, electric and pneumatic connection requirements, and required free space.

Capabilities Statement: Respondents must submit a capabilities statement detailing:

  • Company Profile: Organization details, business size, SAM UEI, CAGE code, recommended NAICS and contract type, socio-economic status, certifications, GSA/NASA Schedule information, and how maintenance and training will be provided.
  • Relevant Experience: Experience with similar efforts (flatbed printers, maintenance, training) within the last three years, including project descriptions, contract numbers, values, and agency points of contact.
