Quick Summary

The U.S. Army Contracting Command-Redstone is conducting market research through a Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential sources for a Lab Standard Microphone System. This system, which can be brand name or equivalent, is needed by the U.S. Army Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment Activity (USATA) to replace damaged 4180/4160 microphones critical for the Acoustics Lab at Redstone Arsenal, AL. The replacement is essential to prevent a potential shutdown of the lab, as these microphones are fundamental for reciprocity calibration and all accredited acoustic parameters.

Scope of Work

The required Lab Standard Microphone System includes the following components or their equivalents:

  • One (1) 4180—PTO 1/2" Calibration Condenser Microphone, laboratory standard.
  • One (1) ET-2014-W-002 Primary DPLA Microphone Calibration (1/3 octave frequencies 10Hz to 25 kHz for type 4180).
  • One (1) 4160—PTO 1" Laboratory Standard Pressure Microphone, 200V Polarization.
  • One (1) ET-2014-W-001 Primary DPLA Microphone Calibration (1/3 octave frequencies 2Hz to 10kHz for type 4160), calculated according to IEC 61094-2:2009/AMD1:2022.
  • One (1) AO-0087-D-012 Cable, coax single screen, BNC (M) to BNC (M), 1.2m (4.0ft).
  • Shipping for two items to U.S. Army TMDE Activity, Attn: Ricardo Gutierrez, Building 5435, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898.
