Scope of Work
The project requires a Class III intensive pedestrian cultural resource survey on approximately 7,050 acres within the Cade Mountain Vegetation Management Project area. Key tasks include:
- Conducting a Class I pre-field literature review.
- Performing a Class III intensive field survey, recording cultural resource sites and isolated finds.
- Re-locating and re-recording four specific cultural resources to determine National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) eligibility.
- Preparing preliminary findings, draft, and final cultural resource inventory reports, including GIS data, compliant with HC-OAHP and Forest Service guidelines.
- Obtaining official SHPO concurrence on the Area of Potential Effect (APE), site eligibility, project effects, and management recommendations.
- Fieldwork must be conducted when the area is 90% snow-free and reasonably dry, with maximum transect width of 15 meters.
