Request for Information (RFI)

This RFI is issued by the General Services Administration (GSA) on behalf of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) for market research purposes. The government is seeking information to determine the availability of qualified contractors capable of providing Industrial Plant Equipment (IPE), potentially including in-country training. This RFI is for planning purposes only and is not a solicitation or a commitment to award a contract.

• NAICS Codes Considered: 333517 (Machine Tool Manufacturing) and 332322 (Sheet Metal Work Manufacturing).

• Product Description: Covers various Industrial Plant Equipment (IPE), with a specific reference to "Lathe, Engine" (CLIN 0001).

• Objectives: Understand vendor interest, identify implementation barriers, gain insight into industry best practices, and assess potential for subcontracting or teaming.

• Potential Future Procurement: An RFQ may be posted via GSA eBuy or SAM.gov.

• Format: Capability statement limited to five (5) pages.

• Content: Company information (name, UEI, CAGE, POC, website), GSA contract details (numbers, socioeconomic status), company capabilities related to the product, previous experience, and anticipated teaming/subcontracting plans.

• Specific Questions: Vendors must address questions regarding RFQ information needs, experience with contract types (FFP, Cost Reimbursement), potential barriers to quoting, quote preparation time, perceived risks, likelihood of subcontracting/teaming (and percentage), other relevant information for acquisition strategy, suggested NAICS codes/GSA categories, preferred contract type/structure, production capacity, alternative IPE specifications, and interest in an industry call.

• Teaming Encouraged: Vendors are encouraged to form GSA Schedule Contractor Team Arrangements (CTAs).

• No Reimbursement: Costs incurred in preparing a response will not be reimbursed.

• No Award: No award will result from this RFI.

• Doorway Fit: The machine must fit through a doorway, and bidders need to provide the doorway dimensions (Height, Width).
• Floor Space: Available floor space, including operator workspace and OSHA clearances, must be provided.
• Source Information: If available, bidders should identify a known source for the equipment.
