Quick Summary
The Department of the Air Force, specifically the 502 CONS CL at Lackland AFB, is soliciting quotes for a Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Coverage Analysis for Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA). This effort aims to identify and address critical communication gaps, improve service reliability, and support Airmen and mission partners. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. Quotes are due April 30, 2026, at 3:00 PM CST.
Scope of Work
The contractor will provide a comprehensive coverage data study for JBSA. This involves a technical team surveying 4400.5x.5 mile grids within the San Antonio area and 5-mile military influence zones. The testing will include both inbound and outbound assessments to evaluate the range and reliability of the six existing UHF R1 ASTRO Site Repeaters on base. This analysis is crucial as the organization lacks the internal capability to conduct such a survey and will enable data-driven decision-making, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance.
