Fit reasons
- NAICS alignment with historical contract wins in similar service areas.
- Scope strongly matches core technical capabilities and delivery model.
Risks
- Past performance thresholds may require one additional teaming partner.
- Potential clarification needed on staffing minimums before bid/no-bid.
Next steps
Validate eligibility requirements, assign capture owner, and schedule partner outreach to confirm teaming strategy before submission planning.
Quick Summary
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), under the Department of Commerce, is soliciting quotations for a Lock-In Amplifier and an Arbitrary Waveform Generator to support its CHIPS R&D Metrology Program. This is a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation (RFQ) for commercial products, issued under solicitation number 1333ND26QNB030182. The procurement is unrestricted, open to all qualified business concerns. Quotes are due by May 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM ET.
Scope of Work
NIST requires a laser Doppler vibrometer (LDV) system or associated high-precision optical components to measure piezoelectric coefficients in thin-film materials for next-generation 5G and 6G wireless filters. The specific items required are:
- Line Item 0001: Lock-in amplifier (Quantity: 1) capable of analyzing signals up to 600 MHz, with at least two channels, demodulating at least 8 harmonic signals, 50 Ohm input impedance, output at least 100 mV, and 14 bits D/A conversion.
- Line Item 0002: Arbitrary Waveform Generator (Quantity: 1) with at least 2.4 GSa/s, at least four channels, at least 250 MHz bandwidth, and at least 5-volt output.
