- Past performance thresholds may require one additional teaming partner.
- Potential clarification needed on staffing minimums before bid/no-bid.
Next steps
Validate eligibility requirements, assign capture owner, and schedule partner outreach to confirm teaming strategy before submission planning.
Quick Summary
The Department of the Army is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential offerors capable of providing low-cost ground and airborne technologies to detect, classify, track, and defeat Unmanned Aerial System (UAS)-borne threats. The Army Research Laboratory seeks innovative and affordable sensing and effector solutions for integration into a layered, counter-UAS System-of-Systems. This RFI is for market research purposes and is not a request for competitive proposals. Responses are due by March 25, 2026.
Opportunity Details
The U.S. Government is seeking two primary technology areas:
- Sensing Solutions: Must be capable of detecting, classifying, and tracking Group 1 to Group 3 UAS-borne threats. Solutions should be mature, modular, low Size Weight and Power (SWaP), battery-powered, and low-cost (under $3,000 per module in quantities of 10,000+). They must have documented physical and electrical interfaces for immediate integration and can be ground-based or suitable for Class 1 UAS platforms.
- Effector Solutions: Must disable or destroy UAS-borne threats, utilizing either non-kinetic (soft-kill) or kinetic (hard-kill) methods. Multi-kill solutions are preferred. These solutions can be ground-based, battery-powered (preferred), suitable for integration into a Group 1 UAS, or a fully integrated counter-UAS drone with a wireless interface. They must also be low-cost (under $4,000 in quantities of 10,000+).
Submission & Contract Information
This is a Special Notice (RFI) and not a solicitation for proposals. However, interested parties who believe they can meet the requirement may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation. The Government will consider all timely submissions, but the decision to pursue a competitive requirement based on responses remains at its sole discretion.
