Quick Summary
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support has issued a Limited Sources Justification (LSJ) for the acquisition of Getinge 86 Series Washer-Disinfectors for the US Army's Tripler Shafter Army Medical Center (AMC). This justification supports the procurement of a specialized sterilization system for surgical instruments and related items, replacing end-of-life equipment.
Scope of Work
The requirement is for the Getinge 86 Series Washer-Disinfector, an automated cleaning solution for various surgical instruments (solid and tubular), bowls, basins, glassware, receivers, suction bottles, baby bottles, anesthesia equipment, and surgical shoes. Key features include a touchscreen interface, process report generation, low-pressure/high-volume flow wash, rotary spray arms, adjustable water fill levels, a heat exchanger for drying, differential pressure monitoring for HEPA filters, an integral process monitoring system with error alerts, and a wash cart accessory with removable spray arms and shelves. The system must be compatible with existing instrument trays, bins, surgical sets, and mobile carts.
Contract Details
This order will be placed under Fidelis Sustainability Distribution ECAT Contract SPE2D1-26-D-0006, which is part of the Equipment ECAT Multiple Award Program. DLA Troop Support has determined prices to be fair and reasonable and will seek quantity discounts.
Justification & Set-Aside
This is a Limited Sources Justification, indicating that only one source is deemed capable of meeting the unique and highly specialized requirements. Market research conducted in March and validated in April 2026 confirmed that no other manufacturers could meet the minimum requirements. Therefore, a set-aside designation is Not Applicable.
Additional Notes
The existing equipment at Tripler AMC has reached its end of life and requires replacement. While this is a limited sources procurement, DLA Troop Support notes that Equipment ECAT vendors have the opportunity to add new products quarterly to enhance future competition. DLA also intends to locate other sources for future requirements.
