Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

To provide refuse collection and disposal services for Mammoth Cave National Park, including furnishing materials, equipment, transportation, and labor for refuse collection and disposal at a state-licensed sanitary landfill.

• Collect and dispose of refuse from designated pick-up sites within Mammoth Cave National Park according to a specified schedule.

• Empty all garbage from dumpsters and garbage cans, changing liners where appropriate.

• Collect and dispose of litter within 5 feet of dumpsters and garbage cans, and litter encountered on trails in developed areas.

• Clean all dumpsters twice a year (May and September), providing a spare dumpster during cleaning.

• All refuse containers must be completely emptied at each scheduled pick-up. Failure to do so may result in reduced payments.

• Spilled refuse must be cleaned up prior to leaving the site.

• Dumpsters must be returned to their proper station, lined, and in an upright position after emptying.

• Liquid spills from compaction equipment must be reduced, with no compaction in the Campground recycling area.

• The work is to be performed at designated pick-up sites within Mammoth Cave National Park.

• The contract includes a base period plus three option years.

• Work hours are generally between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM, unless otherwise approved.

• Contractor personnel must be physically able and capable of performing the work. Operators of Contractor-owned equipment must hold a valid State of Kentucky motor vehicle operator's license.

• Contractor must provide all necessary equipment, which must be safe, properly maintained, and meet all applicable regulations. Hauling equipment must be a fully enclosed compaction type.

• Contractor must provide dumpsters and coordinate their installation. Dumpsters must be clean, dent-free, and of the same color.

• Contractor must be available via telephone, email, and text messages during normal working hours (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM), seven days a week, and provide emergency contact information.

• Invoices are submitted monthly for review and payment via the Internet Payment Program (IPP).
