Quick Summary
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), under the Department of the Interior, is soliciting proposals for Marine Trailer Repair to rebuild an oversized marine boat trailer for the Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center (PCMSC). This is a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation set aside for Total Small Businesses. The objective is to restore structural integrity, modernize mechanical systems, and improve reliability and safety. Scope of Work
This opportunity requires a complete mechanical and structural rebuild of a 10-year-old oversized marine boat trailer. Key requirements include:

- Bearings & Hubs: Convert new axles with "Air-Tight" 10k pressurized and sealed hub protection kits.
- Braking System: Replace with new disc brake components compatible with 10,000 lb axles.
- Suspension: Install new springs with the complete axle assembly.
- Electrical System: Inspect and replace as needed to ensure full DOT compliance, utilizing sealed submersible components where possible.
- Structural & Safety: Inspect and reuse/replace bunks, hull support, winch, breakaway brake system, safety chains, and tie-down hardware.
- Coatings: Strip and reapply marine-grade protective coatings; reuse structurally sound stainless or galvanized hardware.
