Scope of Work

The requirement is for comprehensive medical physics services at QNBMHCF. Key tasks include:

• Annual Inspections: Inspect all imaging equipment (X-ray, nuclear medicine cameras, PET/CT, ultrasound, MRI) at least annually (not to exceed 14 months), ensuring compliance with ACR and MQSA requirements.
• Acceptance Testing: Perform acceptance testing for all new or relocated imaging equipment prior to clinical use.
• Post-Repair Inspections: Inspect equipment after repairs or modifications that may affect radiation output or image quality.
• Protocol Review: Annually review CT protocols.
• Shielding Design: Provide shielding design calculations and perform surveys for new, replaced, or relocated X-ray imaging systems, complying with NCRP reports.
• Quality Assurance (QA): Assist in developing and annually reviewing a comprehensive technical QA program for all modalities.
• Consultation: Provide additional consultation services, such as safety training.

All work must comply with applicable laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., ACR, MQSA, NCRP, AAPM, TJC). Electronic reports are due within 48 hours, and hard copies within 15 working days.

Personnel Qualifications

Services must be performed by a Qualified Medical Physicist (QMP) certified by the American Board of Radiology, American Board of Medical Physics, or the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine. Evidence of board certification must be submitted with the response.
