This work item describes the requirements to provide services for the maintenance, inspections, and functional testing of all fork trucks and side loaders onboard a vessel, to be performed while the vessel is underway.
Perform maintenance, inspections, and functional testing on all shipboard fork trucks and side loaders.
Verify inventory, manufacturer, model, serial number, and location of equipment prior to commencing work.
Coordinate access and scheduling with Ship's Force for underway operations.
Inspect, at a minimum: structural components, weldments, forks, masts, chains, lifting mechanisms, hydraulic systems, hoses, fittings, braking and steering systems, electrical systems, alarms, safety devices, required labels, markings, and data plates.
Lubricate, adjust, and service components as required.
Conduct operational testing of each fork truck and side loader, verifying lifting, lowering, steering, braking, and emergency stop functionality.
Document all discrepancies in Condition Found Reports (CFRs), including equipment identification, discrepancy description, and recommended corrective action. Corrective repairs identified in CFRs will be addressed under separate authorization.
Provide inspection and maintenance reports for each piece of equipment in PDF format.
Provide a summary report identifying the operational status of all fork trucks and side loaders.
Remove all debris generated by the work and restore work areas to a clean and safe condition.
Inspections and maintenance to be performed in accordance with OEM manuals, NAVSUP 538, and applicable regulations.
Any equipment found unsafe or non-operational shall be immediately reported to Ship's Force and OMT.
Inspection results to be documented and submitted to the OMT Representative.
Work to be performed while the vessel is underway.
Contractor personnel shall embark with and travel onboard the vessel for the duration necessary to complete inspections and maintenance.
Contractor personnel shall disembark at the next available port of call, as coordinated with MSC and Ship's Force.
All inspections and maintenance must be performed by qualified authorized service representatives certified or trained for the specific equipment serviced.
Contractor and subcontractors must consult the General Technical Requirements (GTR) to determine applicability and comply with all applicable GTRs.
