Sources Sought Notice

This notice seeks information on the availability and capability of qualified small businesses to provide a Microwave Digestion System with Accessories for the FDA Irvine Medical Products Laboratory. The FDA uses this equipment for elemental analysis to detect trace levels of toxic elements in regulated commodities, aiming to increase efficiency and reduce analytical timeframes.

The core requirement is the purchase of one (1) new, fully automated Microwave Digestion System with accessories. Key features include:

• Fully automatic loading/unloading of vessels.

• Sequential, continuous microwave digestion.

• At least a 24-position sample rack.

• High-definition camera for real-time viewing.

• Individual pressure and temperature control per sample.

• Barcode scanning for sample recording.

• No external chiller or gas source required.

• Stirring option for samples.

• Single 110-120V electrical requirement.

• Quartz vessels (at least 24 provided) with Teflon insert options.

• Footprint no larger than 24" W x 24" D x 36" H.

• Must include exhaust hose, sample racks, barcode scanner, and vessel stand/holder.

• Equipment must be newly manufactured.

• Delivery required within 90 days from contract award (FOB destination, inside delivery).

• Minimum 12-month warranty on parts and labor from government acceptance.

• Service must be performed by OEM-trained engineers with access to OEM support and parts.

• Installation by an OEM-trained field service engineer, including verification testing and calibration consumables.

• Operator-level training for 2 users onsite, covering routine regulatory analyses.
