Purpose

The Forest Service seeks to understand industry capabilities and qualifications to shape the acquisition strategy for a competitive requirement to repair and resurface FR 86.
Scope of Work
The project involves comprehensive road repair, including:
- Repairing base and pavement failures on FR 86.
- Milling or sawing pavement and excavating unsuitable material.
- Creating French drains with rock and separation fabric as needed.
- Placing and compacting aggregate base stone and Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) base material to restore original road grade.
- Applying HMA patch, leveling, and wearing courses across the project area.
- Scarifying shoulders, removing topsoil/vegetation, and placing/compacting aggregate to create 2-foot shoulders.
- Hauling milled HMA material to FR 101 for placement in approximately 3-inch-deep compacted lifts. The contractor will be responsible for all supervision, labor, equipment, materials, and quality control, adhering to contract drawings, the detailed SOW, industry standards, and WVDOH 2023 Standard Specifications.
