Next steps

The NIST has an ongoing need for professional services of an architect or engineering nature, which are required to be performed or approved by a person licensed, registered, or certified to provide such services. Reference FAR clause 52.236-25 Requirement for Registration of Designers (JUN 2003). NIST will require A-E Services needed for design of NIST owned properties in Colorado and Hawaii, operated and maintained facilities and/or for tenant build-out construction and renovation projects. NIST facilities consist of approximately 30 separate buildings totaling approximately 650,000 square feet and consist of scientific research laboratories and clean rooms, warehouses, machine shops, maintenance shops, a central utility plant, administrative offices, and conference/auditorium facilities, along with radio transmission sites; utilities including electrical systems, water and sewage systems, communications and security systems, plumbing systems, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems; roads and trails; bridges; ramps; fences and gates, and recreational and visitor facilities. NIST may require professional services for interpretive exhibits to provide public information, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, fire protection, security systems, geotechnical, and landscape architect capabilities including support related to these services. Services may include Title I, II and III services. See attached draft Statement of Work (SOW).
