Scope of Work

The VA seeks new steam sterilizers with specific salient characteristics, including external dimensions not exceeding 77.5" H x 39" W x 43" D, chamber dimensions not exceeding 26" H x 26" W x 27.5" D, foot pedal controls, a chamber volume of at least 275 L, a tray capacity of at least 5 trays, pull-out shelves, and stainless steel construction.

Extended installation is required in two phases (2 then 3 sterilizers) to maintain SPS operations. This includes providing ICRA plans and barriers, disconnecting/disposing of existing equipment, relocating plumbing, reconnecting DI/RO water, hot/cold water, compressed air, and power, installing sample ports, and performing flooring/painting adjustments.

Delivery will be to the Baltimore VA Medical Center, requiring 3 weeks' notice. The contractor must provide onsite operator training for clinical, Facilities & Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering staff. A minimum 1-year warranty on parts and labor, including onsite repairs, phone support, and routine maintenance, is required.
