Purpose & Scope
NGA is seeking information on police duty footwear for its Office of Protective Services (SIP) to ensure officers are properly outfitted for their duties in diverse environments. The RFI aims to identify qualified vendors and inform a future acquisition for police duty boots.
Key Requirements / Deliverables
NGA is interested in black police duty boots with black soles, constructed from materials like nylon, canvas, and/or leather. Key performance needs include:
- Traction & Stability: Aggressive, slip-resistant rubber outsole for varied surfaces.
- Comfort & Fatigue Reduction: High-performance midsole and cushioned, multi-density, or memory foam insole.
- Durability & Protection: Durable materials (full-grain leather, ballistic nylon, Cordura fabric); composite safety toes are optional.
- Breathability & Moisture Management: Anti-microbial, moisture-wicking liner; upper materials allowing air circulation; waterproof options for cold/wet climates and breathable designs for hot weather.
- Supportive Design: High-shaft or tactical designs for ankle support.
- Functional Features: Secure lacing system; side-zipper system is optional.
- Sizing: Available in men's sizes 6-15 and women's sizes 4-11.
Contract Details
This is a Sources Sought notice for market research. A planned acquisition is anticipated, with details in a draft Statement of Need. The period of performance is To Be Determined (TBD). The planned acquisition locations are St. Louis, MO, and Springfield, VA.
Submission & Evaluation
- Response Due: March 03, 2026, by 5:00 PM ET.
- Submission Method: Email responses as an UNCLASSIFIED message attachment to Kenneth.M.Lehrmann@nga.mil and Janet.D.Richards@nga.mil. The subject line must be "RFI Response".
- Content: Include administrative details (contact info, business type, UEI, CAGE, SAM registration, GSA FSS info), commercial and government experience, and recommendations for the acquisition. Proprietary information must be clearly marked.
- Eligibility / Set-Aside: The RFI asks vendors to identify their business type (e.g., Small Business, SDVOSB, WOSB, HUBZone, 8(a)) and references FAR 52.219-14 for small business set-aside consideration.
