Quick Summary

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) has issued a Sources Sought / Request for Information (RFI) to gather industry information and capabilities for police duty boots. This is for market research and planning purposes only and does not constitute a commitment to contract. Responses will help NGA understand current practices and vendor capabilities for a planned acquisition. Responses are due by March 03, 2026, at 5:00 PM ET.

Purpose & Scope

NGA is seeking information on police duty footwear for its Office of Protective Services (SIP) to ensure officers are properly outfitted for their duties in diverse environments. The RFI aims to identify qualified vendors and inform a future acquisition for police duty boots.

Key Requirements / Deliverables

NGA is interested in black police duty boots with black soles, constructed from materials like nylon, canvas, and/or leather. Key performance needs include:

  • Traction & Stability: Aggressive, slip-resistant rubber outsole for varied surfaces.
  • Comfort & Fatigue Reduction: High-performance midsole and cushioned, multi-density, or memory foam insole.
  • Durability & Protection: Durable materials (full-grain leather, ballistic nylon, Cordura fabric); composite safety toes are optional.
  • Breathability & Moisture Management: Anti-microbial, moisture-wicking liner; upper materials allowing air circulation; waterproof options for cold/wet climates and breathable designs for hot weather.
  • Supportive Design: High-shaft or tactical designs for ankle support.
  • Functional Features: Secure lacing system; side-zipper system is optional.
  • Sizing: Available in men's sizes 6-15 and women's sizes 4-11.

Contract Details

This is a Sources Sought notice for market research. A planned acquisition is anticipated, with details in a draft Statement of Need. The period of performance is To Be Determined (TBD). The planned acquisition locations are St. Louis, MO, and Springfield, VA.
