NIOSH seeks a contractor to manage hazardous waste generated by its four research facilities, which are classified as Small Quantity Generators (SQG). Services include:

  • Waste Types: Handling a wide range of hazardous chemical waste, flammable liquids/solids, acids/bases, oxidizers, metals, U/P-listed waste, peroxides, mercury compounds, gas cylinders, dioxins, PCBs, aerosols, formaldehyde-containing tissue, small quantities of explosives, paints, waste oils, and universal waste (batteries, pesticides, lamps, aerosol cans).
  • Required Services: Pickup, transportation, packaging (including lab packing), labeling, analysis, documentation, and disposal. The contractor must ensure compliance with all Federal, state, and local regulations (RCRA, TSCA, OSHA, DOT), manage Hazardous Waste Manifests, provide spill response, and ensure waste is transported to properly permitted facilities. Certificates of final treatment/disposal are required.
