Quick Summary

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Boulder, CO, is conducting market research through a Sources Sought notice to identify qualified small business construction firms. The purpose is to find sources capable of performing a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) contract for the B1 Wing 6 Seal Above Hallway Doors Project. This project primarily involves extending a demising wall and sealing penetrations to thermally and mechanically isolate Wing 6 from the Spine corridor. An optional scope includes reconstructing a storage room and installing security hardware. Capability statements are due by March 19, 2026.

  • Infill holes in gypsum sheathing and seal all penetration gaps with fire-rated sealants where the demising wall separates the Women's restroom from the Spine corridor.
  • Dispose of all construction debris.

Optional Scope (CLIN 002):

  • Reconstruct storage room #4089 by constructing a new wall.
  • Install hollow metal frames and doors with NIST campus standard security hardware.
  • Infill gypsum wall board gaps and seal penetrations with fire-rated sealant.
