This notice is for market research purposes only and is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or Quotation (RFQ). The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking to identify qualified SMALL BUSINESS construction firms capable of performing a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) construction project for the B2 1330 Fume Hood Replacement Project at the NIST Boulder Campus. This notice does not commit the Government to award a contract.

The project involves construction services to remove and replace an existing laboratory tabletop fume hood and associated rooftop exhaust fan in Building 2, Room 1330. Work includes:

• Demolition and replacement of countertops, sink, base cabinetry, plumbing, and architectural finishes.

• Removal and installation of fume hood, ductwork, and rooftop exhaust fan.

• Installation of a new walk-in fume hood, hazardous exhaust fan, exhaust stack, and duct connections.

• Electrical work including circuits, cable tray, dedicated receptacles, lightning protection, and bonding.

• Plumbing work for new sink and eyewash station.

• Fire alarm system installation for a supervised fume hood panic alarm.

• Structural design and installation of exhaust fan stack supports.

• ASHRAE 110 performance testing of the hood and exhaust system.

• Coordination with NIST personnel.

Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines the requirements for the NIST B2 1330 Fume Hood Replacement Project at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Boulder Campus. The project aims to replace an aging fume hood and associated rooftop exhaust fan in Building 2, Lab 1330, to accommodate new research equipment utilizing toxic gases.

• New Work: Installation of a new countertop, sink, base cabinets, fume hood, exhaust stack supports (including structural design), new exhaust fan roof curb flashing, new rooftop mounted hazardous exhaust fan, duct connections, exhaust stack, and roof work. Reworking of existing plumbing, electrical wiremold, conduits, junction boxes, and electrical wiring to accommodate new installations.

• Specific Tasks: Includes architectural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire alarm/BMS work. Key installations include a new walk-in fume hood, rooftop hazardous exhaust fan, new electrical circuits, cable tray, and a fume hood panic alarm system approved by NIST FPAD.

• The fume hood and exhaust fan will be tested to ASHRAE 110 specifications by the Contractor, with a report submitted for government review and acceptance.

• Ownership transfers to NIST upon acceptance.

• Government will test, inspect, and accept or reject equipment within 10 working days of receipt.
