Quick Summary
The U.S. Army's Program Executive Office for Simulations Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI), specifically the Soldier Virtual Trainer (SVT) team, is seeking vendors for a no-cost bailment agreement to develop Virtual Marksmanship Simulator components compatible with the Next Generation Squad Weapons (NGSW), including the M7, M250, and XM157 Fire Control Smart Scope. This initiative aims to accelerate the development of "drop-in-kits" or surrogates for simulated firing within the SVT training simulator. Responses are requested by February 18, 2026.
Purpose & Scope
The primary purpose is to enable the development of SVT components that allow simulated firing and functioning of the M7 and M250 weapons within the SVT training simulator. To achieve this, the Army will loan NGSW systems to selected vendors under a no-cost contract (bailment agreement). Vendors are required to self-fund the development of these drop-in-kits or surrogates using Independent Research and Development (IRAD) funds, without government funding. The goal is to build a Virtual Marksmanship Simulator compatible with the US Army's NGSW.
