Quick Summary
The Department of the Army is conducting market research via a Sources Sought notice to identify qualified Republic of Korea (ROK) companies capable of providing Non-Destructive Test Equipment (NDTE) Logistic Services at Camp Humphreys, South Korea. This effort involves operating and maintaining NDTE for testing Soldier body armor plates. Responses are due June 16, 2026.
Scope of Work
This requirement is for establishing and maintaining field operating teams to operate and maintain NDTE. The NDTE systems conduct X-ray scanning of armor protective plates (e.g., Enhanced Small Arms Protective Insert (ESAPI), X-Threat Small Arms Protective Inserts) to detect physical or structural defects and flaws undetectable by visual inspection. The system is portable, deployable, and capable of scanning a plate in 15 seconds, averaging 240 plates per hour. Services include both Field Level and Sustainment Level inspections, ensuring the highest level of ballistic protection. The NDTE also provides continuous body armor plate surveillance by collecting data such as lot number, serial number, and radiographic images. This mission is complex, globally dispersed, and critical for Soldier safety.
