Scope of Work
The project's primary objective is to control non-native invasive plant species and native invasive hardwoods that threaten forest health, impede reforestation and hurricane recovery efforts, and degrade wildlife habitat. The contractor will conduct selective herbicide treatments using methods such as foliar spray, basal bark application, hack-and-squirt, and cut-stump treatment. The contractor is responsible for supplying all necessary labor, equipment, herbicide chemicals, safety measures, training, documentation, and transportation.
Strict environmental safeguards, worker safety procedures, and technical standards must be adhered to throughout the project. Additional work under this competitive BPA Call Order may include chemical and mechanical site preparation, tree planting, manual and mechanized timber stand improvement, non-native invasive plant treatments, hemlock woolly adelgid insecticide applications, pre-commercial thinning, and mastication. The Savannah River Site is a restricted-access location, and all personnel must comply with site-specific requirements described in Attachment 3, Special Contract Requirements.
