NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE SOURCE: The Federal Aviation Administration intends to award a single source contract to Airbus Helicopters Inc., Grand Prairie, TX for proposed Initial and Recurrent H-160/H-160B Helicopter Pilot Training.
In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System, AMS 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source when it is determined to be in the best interest of the FAA. This procurement is considered to be single-sourced to Airbus Helicopters Inc. based on the following: In accordance with the Flight Standards training requirements established by FAA policy and AFB-500, all training for FAA Inspectors/Pilots must be obtained within an approved training program, approved and monitored under the 14 Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) (Federal Aviation Regulations), Part 121, 135, 141, or 142 as appropriate. Airbus Helicopters Inc. is the only company certified with the Part 142 certificate and is the lone provider of the H-160/H-160B Helicopter Pilot Training program available that is approved by the FAA.
