The New York District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to award a sole source firm fixed price contract to Atlantic Detroit Diesel Allison (Stewart & Stevenson Power Products LLC) to provide engine parts, and engine rebuild services for the P/B Hocking Main Engines, marine transmissions, and Ship Service Generators. The propulsion engines are Detroit Diesel 12V-71’s, the marine transmissions are MG-312 and the ship service generators are Detroit Diesel 2-53’s (20kVA) and both will need to be rebuilt with new Detroit Diesel or Detroit Diesel Certified remanufactured parts per the specification. Atlantic Detroit Diesel Allison is the only authorized Marine Detroit Diesel Representative in the Tri-State Area. As the regional Detroit Diesel representative, they have the capability to provide genuine OEM parts and service, with any rebuilt components conforming Detroit Diesel dimensions, tolerances, and specifications. The P/B Hocking is located at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility, Caven Point Marine Terminal in Jersey City, New Jersey.
This is not a formal solicitation or request for proposal. This notice of intent is to give notice of the Government's intent to make a sole source award under the authority cited in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1- Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
Any vendor wishing to propose an alternative source must provide a copy of all relevant data demonstrating the alternative source satisfies the above requirements, by the required due date and time, to Matthew Lubiak at: matthew.e.lubiak@usace.army.mil.
