Quick Summary
The Department of the Air Force, AEDC/PZIH, has issued a Notice of Intent to Sole Source for a Trimble Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Base Station Package. The intent is to award a firm-fixed-price purchase order to Vectors Inc. This requirement is for the 846th Test Squadron's Holloman High Speed Test Track (HHSTT) to support precise, high-frequency positioning data. Capability statements are due by June 30, 2026.
Scope of Work
The required package includes one Trimble Alloy GNSS Receiver, one Zephyr Geodetic 3 Antenna, and two Trimble TDL450B Typhoon Radios, along with associated firmware upgrades (e.g., 100Hz data rate, Onboard RTX), cabling, hardware, and documentation. All components must be new and meet specific technical requirements, including dual-chipset technology, multi-constellation GNSS support, high-power UHF data radio, and optimized geodetic antenna for base station applications. Delivery is required within 120 Days After Receipt of Order (ARO) to Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico.
Contract & Timeline
- Type: Special Notice (Notice of Intent to Sole Source)
- Justification: Sole source under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) due to brand-name requirement for interoperability with existing Government equipment and infrastructure. Vectors Inc. is identified as the only known authorized Trimble Geospatial distributor for the New Mexico territory.
- Published: June 15, 2026
- Response Due: June 30, 2026, at 10:30 AM Central Time
- Delivery: Within 120 Days ARO
Set-Aside / Eligibility
This is a sole source action. While the Government intends to negotiate with only one source (Vectors Inc.), all responsible sources may submit a capability statement for consideration. There is no set-aside designation for this notice.
Submission Requirements
Capability statements must clearly demonstrate the ability to provide the required new Trimble GNSS Base Station Package and include:
- Company name, UEI/CAGE code, and business size.
- Documentation showing current authorization to provide Trimble Geospatial equipment for the New Mexico territory.
- Confirmation of ability to provide all required new Trimble components, firmware, cabling, hardware, and documentation.
- Confirmation of delivery within 120 days ARO.
- Any other information demonstrating capability.
Responses shall be submitted via email to Ms. Virginia Jones at virginia.jones.6@us.af.mil.
Additional Notes
Trimble brand-name equipment is essential for direct interoperability with existing testing and geospatial infrastructure at Holloman AFB. Procuring alternative brands would necessitate replacing existing compatible equipment, incurring substantial duplication of cost (estimated at $200,000 for system replacement) and unacceptable delays. Market research confirmed Trimble's regional exclusivity model, with Vectors Inc. holding the sole distribution rights for the territory, prohibiting out-of-state dealers from selling to Holloman AFB.
