Purpose
This notice solicits partners to support the development and flight of science-driven instruments and supporting technology demonstration payloads for lunar surface investigations. These investigations should address science goals of NASA's Science Mission Directorate (Planetary Science, Earth Science, Heliophysics, Astrophysics, Biological and Physical Sciences), objectives of the Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate (ESDMD), and technology demonstration goals of the Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD). Payloads will be delivered via Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) landers to a justified lunar landing destination, including the South Pole region (excluding the North Pole).
Partner Requirements
NASA GRC is looking for partners with capabilities in:
- Developing, integrating, and operating lunar instruments and payloads.
- Relevant flight, development, and research project experience.
- Available facilities and technological processes.
- Ability to contribute specific instrument components for space-relevant environments and testing.
- Demonstrated successful participation in previous, similar development efforts.
Partnership Details
- This notice is not a commitment to partnership or contract.
- NASA GRC anticipates selecting one or more organizations to work with on proposal development.
- No exchange of funds will occur between NASA GRC and teaming partners during proposal preparation.
- Selected partners may be awarded contracts without further competition for the execution of NASA GRC's selected proposals for the PRISM AO.
