Scope of Work
The contractor will provide personnel, supplies, materials, and incidentals to collect specified inventory data on one or two data collection points within selected sample segments in Southern California. This work will primarily occur on Federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands. Data collection must adhere to the standards outlined in the most current NRCS National Resources Inventory Grazing Land On-Site Data Collection, Handbook of Instructions (2026).
Key data requirements include: landscape information, soil determinations, ecological site determinations, rangeland health assessments, plant identification and census, disturbance indicators, sagebrush shape and identification, resource concerns, conservation practices, and plant species composition/production/cover/density/height. Data will be entered into hand-held computers using NRCS-approved software (CASI) and submitted to an ISU server.
Contractor personnel are required to attend NRCS-sponsored training and calibration exercises. Data collection teams must consist of at least two members, including a Team Leader and at least one crew member, with specific education and experience requirements detailed in the Statement of Work.
