Scope of Work
The contractor will supply Stem Retaining Nuts in accordance with Naval Sea Systems Command Drawing 845-4558769, Item 22A. The material must be ASTM-B505, Alloy C90300, with weld repair explicitly not permitted. Key aspects include:
- Material Certification: Quantitative chemical and mechanical analysis required, traceable to unique markings. Re-certification is necessary if material properties are altered during fabrication.
- Testing: Visual inspection of each nut, all surfaces and threads, per T9074-AS-GIB-010/271, with acceptance per S9074-AR-GIB-010/278, Table XV.1 Column B.
- Thread Inspection: Must comply with FED-STD-H28 series, minimum System 21.
- Quality System: Maintain a quality system in accordance with ISO-9001 (amplified herein) and ISO-10012 or ANSI-Z540.3 with ISO-17025 for calibration (or MIL-I-45208 with MIL-STD-4). Suppliers of Level I/SUBSAFE material must submit quality system procedures prior to award.
- Traceability: Maintain full traceability from material to certification test reports, with permanent markings per MIL-STD-792.
- Final Inspection: Material sampling per ANSI/ASQ-Z1.4, General Inspection Level II, with zero defects for lot acceptance. 100% inspection for material verification data, traceability, and NDT certifications.
