Quick Summary
The US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command - Soldier Center (DEVCOM-SC) is conducting a Sources Sought / Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential sources for Nutrient Analysis Services for food products. This market research aims to gather information on laboratory testing capabilities, methodologies, and pricing. Responses are due March 1, 2026.
Scope of Work
DEVCOM-SC seeks information on technologies and capabilities for laboratory nutrient analysis testing on provided food samples. Key areas of interest include standard methods, quality assurance/control measures, turn-around times, and costs per sample/reportable result. The RFI specifically requests information on a wide range of analytes, including:
- Common Analytes: Calories, protein, carbohydrates (total, dietary fiber, total sugars), fats (total, saturated, trans, cholesterol), calcium, iron, potassium, ash, percent dry weight/moisture, water activity, pH.
- Amino Acid Analysis: The 20 canonical amino acids, total free essential amino acids.
- Fat-related Analytes: Crude fat, total polyunsaturated fatty acids, linoleic acid, alpha-linoleic acid, oleic acid, stearic acid, palmitic acid, acetate, butyrate.
- Vitamins: A, C, D (D2 and D3), E, K, B1, B2, B3, B6, B9, B12.
- Minerals/Elements: Salt, fluoride, iodine, magnesium, phosphorus, selenium, sodium, zinc.
- Special Analytes: Lactic Acid, Total Capsaicinoids, Nordihydocapsaicin, Capsaicin, Scoville Heat Units, Total Anthocyanins (Cyanidin, Malvidin, Pelargonidin, Delphidin, Peoniden), Total Polyphenols/Phenolics, Caffeine.
Response Requirements
Interested parties should submit responses electronically. While a full white paper (max 12 pages) is requested, an amendment clarifies that a price list will be accepted without a full white paper, provided it includes company information (name, CAGE code, mailing address, primary point of contact). The full white paper, if submitted, should cover company information, relevant products/services, proposed hardware, and for foreign companies, how they would work with the US Government. Additional documentation (e.g., PowerPoint, spec sheets, test data) and Test, Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documentation are also accepted.
