- Material: QQ-N-281, Class A or B, with chemical composition per MIL-DTL-32258.
- Testing: Dye Penetrant Inspection, Quality Conformance Tests, and First Article Testing (FAT) per NASM25027 and MIL-N-25027/1. FAT can be satisfied by prior approval letters or proof from qualified sources.
- Internal Threads: Must be formed by cutting; cold forming is not acceptable.
- Traceability: Strict traceability from material to certification test reports is mandatory, with unique traceability numbers marked on the material.
