Quick Summary

The Office of Naval Research (ONR) is hosting a FLASH Industry Engagement Day, a Special Notice event, to engage the Hypersonics Technologies and Weapons communities. This event will present the benefits and technical challenges of the Flight Advancement of Structures for Hypersonics (FLASH) Innovative Naval Prototype (INP) program. The engagement day is scheduled for May 4, 2026, at ONR headquarters in Arlington, VA.

Purpose & Scope

This Industry Day aims to inform industry professionals about the ONR's novel, funded FLASH INP program. Discussions will occur in a Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) forum, covering program goals, intentions, and technical challenges related to developing a new class of Hypersonic delivery systems. Key topics include critical materials, technologies, manufacturing techniques and processes, test and evaluation plans, and sub to full-scale performance demonstration campaigns. The event will also address the intended strategic capability transition to industry partners.
