Purpose & Scope
NOAA OR&R requires technical support for the maintenance, development, standardization, and integration of critical environmental databases. This includes managing contaminant chemistry, bioassay (toxicity) test, and field observation data essential for risk assessments, cleanup goals, and natural resource damage determinations. Key tasks involve:
- Maintaining and improving environmental data models, regional databases, and automated routines.
- Standardizing and integrating field and laboratory data into the DIVER environmental data format.
- Developing and enhancing data templates and automation tools for data integration.
- Conducting thorough Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) reviews of new datasets.
- Documenting each dataset, including project source and analytical methods.
- Providing optional, on-demand support for major spill or environmental emergency events.
