Quick Summary

The U.S. Naval Medical Research Unit SOUTH (NAMRU SOUTH), under the Dept Of Defense / DEPT OF THE NAVY, is issuing a Special Notice to procure customized primers and probes for molecular diagnosis of various viruses. These materials are essential for their existing RT real-time PCR assays. Responses are due by March 26, 2026.

Scope of Work

NAMRU SOUTH's Virology Department requires customized primers and probes for the molecular diagnosis of a wide range of viruses, including Dengue (four serotypes), Chikungunya, Zika, Mayaro, Hantavirus, Orthobunyavirus, Influenza (A-matrix gene and B, with subtypes H3, H1pdm/SwH1N1, H1 seasonal), and SARS-CoV-2. These will be used in RT real-time PCR assays on various sample types from febrile and respiratory surveillance protocols.

Key Requirements

Materials must be compatible with NAMRU SOUTH's validated TaqMan 7500/7500 Fast Real time PCR system and QuantStudio platforms. Using different materials would necessitate re-validation, causing significant delays. The required items, detailed in 'Book1.xlsx', include:

  • DNA-1 Custom Oligonucleotide: 23 Bases, 2 Inosines, 1umol (5 EA)
  • LNA-FB1-50sp Dual-labeled LNA Probe: 5' FAM/2 LNA Bases/3' MGB-EDQ, 50nmol (various quantities)
  • DLO-FBN-1 5' FAM BHQnova Probe
  • DLO-COB1-1 Dual-labeled Probe: 5' CAL Fluor® Orange 560/3' BHQ-1, 1 umol (5.0)
  • DLO-Q6B2-1 Dual-labeled Probe: 5' Quasar 670/3' BHQ-2 1 µmol (2.0)
  • DLO-Q7B2-1 Dual-labeled Probe: 5' Quasar 705/3' BHQ-2 1 µmol (2.0)
  • LNA-FB1-50 Dual-labeled LNA Probe: 5' FAM/3' BHQ-1 50 nmol (4.0)
  • DLO-FB1-1 Dual-labeled Probe: 5' FAM/3' BHQ-1 1 µmol (various quantities)
  • MGB-FEDQ-60 Dual-labeled MGB Probe: 5' FAM/3' MGB-EDQ 1 µmol (2.0)
  • PPC-1 Primer: Cartridge Purified (up to 30 bases each) 1 µmol (58.0)
  • PP-2 Primer: Salt-Free (up to 30 bases each) 200 nmol (16.0)
  • P1-2 Primer: Avg. 23 Bases, Salt-Free 200 nmol (370.0)
  • Multiplex Primers & Probe: For Influenza A, Influenza B, SARS-CoV-2, and Human RNase P Extraction Control (2.0 EA each)
