Quick Summary
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), specifically the National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) Office of Satellite Product Operations (OSPO), is conducting market research through a Sources Sought/Request for Information (RFI) for the installation of OM5 Multimode Fiber Optic Cabling at the National Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF) in Suitland, MD. This RFI aims to identify qualified sources capable of satisfying the agency's requirements. Responses are due by February 10, 2026.
Scope of Work
The requirement involves the installation of OM5 Multimode Fiber Optic Cabling in approximately five separate locations and various communications rooms throughout NSOF. This includes a total of 20 fiber optic runs, with specific strand counts and lengths detailed (e.g., 48 Strand – 466LF from COM 1A to COM 2A). Contractors must install system components and appurtenances according to manufacturer instructions, providing interconnections, services, and adjustments for a complete and operable data transmission system. The fiber optic cable must be armored, consist of subunits bound by a PVC outer jacket, and be 50-micron multimode for inter-building use. It must comply with UL rating 1666 or UL 910 and be pre-terminated with LC-LC duplex connectors from a single manufacturer. Inspection and testing must meet Government requirements.
